I am grateful for the invitation to the Sports Innovation Lab Lounge at CES in Las Vegas. I connected with some amazing individuals in the sports and entertainment industry.
At the Sports Innovation Lab Lounge during CES 2024, a range of discussions and presentations highlighted the evolving intersection of technology and sports. One of the key topics was the impact of data on understanding sports fans, specifically the concept of “Fluid Fans” who are characterized by traits like being values-driven and open to new ways of engaging with sports through streaming and festivals. This new fan data is being used by brands and properties to better target and engage with these audiences.
Another significant focus was on the ROI of women’s sports, where Sports Innovation Lab shared insights on the increasing investment in women’s sports media and sponsorships, backed by data and case studies. This reflects a growing recognition of the value and potential in women’s sports.
There was also a session titled “2034: A Sports Odyssey - Imagining the Stadium of the Future,” where experts discussed the future of sports and entertainment venues. The themes included the integration of AI, Mixed-Reality, and Cybersecurity in enhancing the live sports experience.
These discussions at CES Sports Zone and Sports Innovation Lab Lounge indicate a broader trend in the sports industry, where technology, data analytics, and changing fan dynamics are reshaping how sports are consumed, marketed, and experienced.
